Gustav Stickley Morris Chair F8225

Name: Gustav Stickley Morris Chair F8225 - joenevo
SKU: f8225

Description

This is a superb rare early antique Gustav Stickley Morris chair from the early 1900’s Mission and Arts & Crafts period in excellent condition.

The chair is made of solid chestnut and dates from 1901, though it is unsigned.

The model number is 2342. It is very thick and heavy and has extremely desirable form with 5 slats on each side.

Each arm has 2 pinned through tenons and 2 pinned corbels.

There are double pins all around and the legs have double through tenons.

The crest rail has a slight inverted V shape. The seat is supported by a rope foundation.

The seat cushions have their original oilcloth covering that has wear, but is usable.

We have added high quality, hand rubbed leather over top of the original oilcloth so it remains usable if you prefer the original look.

We can recover the cushions in some other fabric of your choice if you desire.

This is a very rare and collectible item, especially for those looking for Gustav Stickley’s early chestnut work.
