This is an Antique Gustav Stickley Spindle Morris Chair from the early 1900s. This is a great looking chair that is in very good condition with a good original finish with some minor normal usage wear. The chair has a good selection of quarter sawn oak. All of the spindles are original with no bowing and the back is also original. Most times in public auctions we see these chair with all kinds of replaced parts. The chair has a double through tenon and pinned construction on the front, back, and the arms and all pined. Gustav Stickley made several different versions of this model of chairs. He made a 17,18, 20, and 22 spindled sided chair and the one we have with 20 spindles on each side is very rare! The seat cushion and the back cushion have been recovered with a top quality black hand-rubbed leather filled with cotton and hair. The cushion is sitting on the original canvas sling with the original leather on the sides. Underneath the sling is the original webbing straps with only one having some minor restoration.
