Description:
This is a superb antique
Persian Mahal Oriental rug from the mid- to late 1800's in very good condition. The
rug has 100% wool, hand knotted pile that is even-low. There has been
some professional repiling done, primarily in the field. About one inch
of one end has also been professionally rewoven (see picture with
finger). The rug comes in a rare, large size and has a great open field
medallion design. The border is particularly nice on this rug. The sides
and ends are complete. The rug is very decorative and impressive
and is a rare collectible in unusually good condition.
Colors: Red-rust
background with navy border and gold, light blue, brown, ivory, brownish
green.
