Description:
This is a rare antique Persian Lavar Kerman
Oriental rug from the 1880's in good condition. The rug has 100% wool,
hand knotted pile that is mostly even-low with lower areas as pictured.
The rug has received wear in one major area between the center and one
end as you can see. The ends are complete and one side has about 2" of
repair that is pointed out. The design and color scheme are excellent
and the weave is very tight. There are many birds throughout the piece
and tigers devouring deer at the top. The border design is particularly
attractive. The size is rare and desirable as well. This is still a very
usable and decorative rug in its current state, but it could also be
restored if you so choose.
