Description:
This is an early antique Caucasian runner from an estate with rugs from
the mid 1800's. We think this rug is from the same era and is in good
condition. The sides and ends are complete. The only problem is that the
brown dye has corroded the wool leaving low spots. Consequently, this
rug is a good candidate for repiling restoration. The rug is stable and
strong and useable in its current condition and does not need reweaving.
A 3" x .5" area from one side is missing. The ends are complete with the
original killim fringe sewn under. As you can see from the pictures,
this is still a very attractive rug.
Colors: Red background with light blue
border. Other colors include dark brown, eggplant, royal blue, teal,
gold, ivory.
