Description:
This is a superb antique Yawman & Frbe MFG.
CO. from the early 1900's Mission and Arts & Crafts period in very good
condition. Yawman & Frbe manufactured the best file cabinets in the
early 1900's -- better than competitors Weiss and Globe Wernicke. The
cabinet is extremely well made of thick quarter sawn oak and is
extremely heavy. As you can read on the inside tag, the piece is
expandable (the sides come off to add more sections). The drawers have
original heavy brass hardware, are dovetailed, and are very heavy and
sturdy. The back is finished as well.
Cabinets made by Yawman & Frbe are hard to find on today's market and
are very desirable. The piece is signed.
