Description:
This is a superb rare antique French hearth
clock from the 18th century in very good condition. The piece is made of
cast iron and appears to be complete. It has an excellent design with
claw feet and a impressive size. The piece is extremely thick and heavy
and has a superb mechanism inside. It is meant to attach to a spit over
a hearth fire and is cranked to time the cooking of food. It is complete
and working and operates very smoothly. It is made and signed by Clave a
Bordeaux and is an extremely well made and collectible piece.
