This is a superb antique L&JG Stickley
slatted rocker from the early 1900s Mission and Arts & Crafts period in
very good condition. The piece is made of excellent quarter sawn oak
with a superb original finish and great color. This rocker has great,
oversize form with 6 slats under each arm. The wide arms have pinned
through tenons at the front and there are corbels underneath. The chair
is double pinned at the top and bottom and the front seat rail has a
distinctive bevel. The original double spring seat has been recovered in
high quality leather with cotton fill. The rocker is signed with a decal
as pictured. This is a very attractive and usable piece in a very
comfortable size.
