Description:
This is an antique Globe Wernicke barrister
bookcase from the early 1900s Mission and Arts & Crafts period in good
condition. The piece is made of oak with an old refinish. There is no
damage to the glass and the doors function well. Three sections are from
the earlier Wernicke company and the bottom section and top piece are by
Globe Wernicke. As you can see the bottom section and the top have
slightly different strap hardware on the sides. However, the sections
all fit together well and the difference is not immediately noticeable.
There is a nice step-back transition between the deeper bottom 2
sections and the shallower top two sections. The piece is sturdy and
strong and is marked as pictured.
