Description:
This is a good antique Gustav Stickley
magazine stand from the early 1900s Mission and Arts & Crafts period in
very good condition. The piece is made of mahogany with an original
finish and great color. The piece has superb form with splayed and
tapered sides and cutouts at the bottom. There are also cloud lift-like
cutouts at the top and bottom and corbels supporting the top. There are
original brass tacks on the shelf edges which retain pieces of the
original leather strips. The sides have distinctive Tree of Life
carvings. There are some rough edges and a spot on one side with
compression dimples as you can see in the pictures. Aside from this, the
piece is excellent and has no cracks and is sturdy and strong. It is
unsigned.
