Description:
This is a superb antique L&JG Stickley
slatted Morris chair from the early 1900s Mission and Arts & Crafts
period in very good condition. The chair is made of good quarter sawn
oak with a cleaned original finish. It has excellent form with pinned
through tenons at the front and back of the arms and they also have
corbels at the front and back. There are great slats under the arms and
the seat rail is beveled. There are double pins at the bottom and the
original back brace is present. The original spring seat and back
cushion are covered in good leather with minor signs of use. The chair
is marked with a brand and is model #471. This is a good example of this
form and is highly decorative and collectible.
