Description:
This is a good early antique L&JG Stickley
desk from the early 1900s Mission and Arts & Crafts period in very good
condition. The piece is made of excellent quarter sawn oak with an
original finish on the base and a recoated top. The top is splined in
several places. It has superb form with tapered legs, exposed through
tenons on the legs, pins all over, and original hand hammered copper
pulls. There is a central blind drawer and a shelf in the knee hole. The
desk is signed with an early red decal as pictured. This is an unusual
model (#501) and is extremely heavy and bulky.
