Description:
This is an unusual antique Arts & Crafts
footstool with interior shelf from the early 1900s Mission period in
very good condition. The piece is made of excellent quarter sawn oak
with an original finish. There are superb tulip cutouts at each side and
excellent shoe feet. There is one removable shelf inside and the
original leather upholstery is present on top and is usable with wear.
The piece is likely a footstool with shoe holder in the interior. The
pull down door has spring loaded hinges. There is a nail for a
manufacturer's label on the bottom, but we do not know who made it. It
is likely by Lakeside Craft Shop or Shop of the Crafters. The piece is
highly unusual and is very well made.
