Description:
This is a superb antique L&JG Stickley bow
arm rocker from the early 1900s Mission and Arts & Crafts period in very
good condition. The piece is made of excellent quarter sawn oak with a
good original finish and great color. It has superb form with wide,
bowed arms with slats underneath. There are long corbels supporting the
arms and the arms have exposed through tenons as well. It is double
pinned at the top and bottom and has a nice arch at the front. The
upholster has been redone in high quality leather (the seat cushion does
fit properly, it was misaligned in the pictures). This is a very bulky
and heavy piece and is very decorative and collectible. It is signed
with an early red decal as pictured and is model #427.
