Description:
This is a good set of 4 antique Gustav
Stickley v-back armchairs from the early 1900s Mission and Arts & Crafts
period in very good condition. The chairs have early, bulky form and are
made of thick quarter sawn oak with original finishes. The chairs have
desirable form (model 312 1/2) with a v-shaped crest rail, shaped,
through tenon, corbelled and pinned arms, back slats, and pins all over.
The chairs have their original oil cloth upholstery in good condition.
One chair has a few small holes and another has a large rip; otherwise,
the upholstery is excellent and usable. There are tacks all around with
very large original brass at the front and sides of most chairs and
smaller, flatter tacks on the back of each and on the sides of one
chair. Two flatter tacks are missing. We can recover the set in leather
of your choice if you desire. One chair is signed with an early Eastwood
paper label. The set is sturdy and strong and highly collectible.
