Description:
This is a superb and rare set of early
antique Gustav Stickley bedroom pieces from 1901 to 1902 in very good
condition. All are made of chestnut with excellent finishes and great
warm color
The dresser
features original hammered copper pulls and mirror adjusters with
pyramid screws. The mirror is arched at the top and has pinned, exposed
through tenons at the top and bottom. The chest portion has three
pinned, exposed through tenons on the front posts and flush through
tenons at the back posts. The back and sides are chamfered and the pice
is heavy and sturdy. It is unsigned.
The desk has
original copper pulls, chamfered sides and back and a larger lower shelf
which is secured by double keyed through tenons one either side. The
front posts have 3 pinned, exposed through tenons, the back posts have
two flush through tenons. and the paper holder at the top features
through tenon construction as well.
It is signed with an early large red decal.
The two side chairs
are sturdy and strong and need new rush seats. Both are signed with red
decals and are in very good condition.
The bed has massive
construction with 3.5" x 3.5" posts and thick mattress rails. There are
wide slats and double pins at the top and bottom. The rails connect to
the head and footboards via original large pegs. The piece is very heavy
and sturdy and is very unusual. It is unsigned.
This is set is
extremely rare and collectible and is quite decorative and usable.
