Description:
This is a superb and rare early Gustav Stickley 2 door bookcase from
1901 in excellent condition. The piece is made of fantastic quarter sawn
oak on every surface (even the back) with an original fumed finish. The
piece has excellent early form with a high gallery, large double keyed
through tenons at the top and bottom of the sides, mitered mullions, and
a chamfered back. There are 3 fixed shelves and original brass hardware
with key. The piece is extremely thick and heavy with boards as much as
1.25" thick. It is signed with a red decal used in 1901. This is an
extremely rare and collectible piece is unusually good condition.
