Description:
This is a superb early antique Gustav Stickley drop front desk from the
early 1900's Mission and Arts & Crafts period in very good condition.
The piece is extremely thick and bulky and has the large red decal of
the early period. It is made of solid quarter sawn oak with and original
finish. The hammered iron hardware is original and is very attractive
with distinctive pyramid tacks. There are cutouts at the bottom and an
exaggerated arched stretcher below the bottom shelf. Large exposed
through tenons are visible at the top and bottom and the bottom is
double pinned. The back is paneled and the interior has many letter
slots. This is a very attractive piece and is highly collectible.
