Description:
This is a superb antique Arts & Crafts
table lamp from the early 1900s Mission period in very good condition.
The piece is most likely made by Benedict but is unsigned. It is made of
excellent hand hammered copper and has a great mice-paned shade. The
shade has excellent riveted joints and there is a desirable bulbous
base. The sockets and chains are original (one socket is missing a
spring for proper functionality). There are a couple very minor dents at
the top cap as pictured but the piece is otherwise excellent. The shade
and the base have been connected via non-original copper parts. It is
the original shade, but the coupling for the base was lost at some time
in the past. The newer parts work perfectly. Though the
lamp is unmarked, it is almost certainly by Benedict and is extremely
well made. It is an attractive collectible with a very impressive
appearance.
