Description:
This is a superb antique Harden Morris
chair from the early 1900's Mission and Arts & Crafts period in
excellent condition. The piece is made of excellent quarter sawn oak
with a very good original finish with excellent color. The chair
displays excellent construction with 3 slats under the arms and the arms
also have pinned through tenons at the front and back. The arms also
have an unusual interior curve and are very wide and are supported by
long corbels. The spring seat and back cushion have been professionally
recovered by hand with high quality, hand rubbed leather with cotton
fill. The back support adjustment and pegs appear to be original. There
is a remnant of the original paper label as pictured. The chair is
sturdy and strong and very well made.
