Description:
This is a superb rare Gustav Stickley
settee from the early 1900s Mission and Arts & Crafts period in very
good condition. The piece is made of good quarter sawn oak with an
excellent original finish. It features superb original leather all
around with all the original brass tacks present. The leather has great
color and is mostly in good, usable condition. There are several weak
spots and shallow tears as you can see in the pictures. The leather has
been reinforced with leather backing as you can see in the pictures and
is currently stable. The settee has great, rare form and is double
pinned at the top and bottom and pinned at other joints. There is a
great horizontally oriented large keyed through tenon at the sides as
well. The piece is sturdy and strong and is signed with an early
box-in-box red decal. This is a highly collectible and extremely
decorative piece in with rare original leather.
